Photo Exhibition “Olenivka. The Quintessence of Cruelty”
On November 22, as part of the 12th meeting of the Core Group on the establishment of a special tribunal for the crime of aggression against Ukraine held in Riga, the photo exhibition “Olenivka. The Quintessence of Cruelty” was presented.
2025

The exhibition is dedicated to the terrorist attack in Olenivka – one of the most brutal crimes committed by russia against Ukrainian prisoners of war. As a result, 53 Ukrainian prisoners, defenders of Azovstal, were killed and more than 130 were injured.

The exhibition aims to draw the attention of the international community to the need for justice, accountability for russian war criminals and the release of all Ukrainian defenders from captivity.

The event was opened by Latvia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Baiba Braže and Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Iryna Mudra.
Russia is a terrorist state that must face appropriate punishment for all war crimes committed on the territory of Ukraine. Every day russians kill Ukrainians, both military personnel and civilians, and torture prisoners of war. The aggressor will not remain unpunished.

The exhibition was created by the Association of Azovstal Defenders' Families with the support of the National Museum of the Revolution of Dignity and presented at the House of the Blackheads in Riga by the Embassy of Ukraine in Latvia.
